Why does my neutered dog have excessive smegma? Is it normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 10 years and 4 months old | 70 lbs

It look like my 10 years old neutered male is having excessive smegma. He is eating, drinking, playful and doing good.. I did use diaper once a while but I am wondering is there a way to help him with that issues.. Thanks

Some smega is normal. An excessive amount can indicate an infection in the prepuce. Have Oliver examined by the veterinarian and make sure to ask about a flush or rinse which may help. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
