My 8-year-old dog is losing weight. Is this normal for senior dogs?

My bull mastiff x has lost a bit of weight, he is 8 yrs old. Is this normal?

He looks like he is in healthy condition, so I don't think you need to be too concerned. If he is having diarrhea, vomiting, a big drop in his appetite, if he seems short of breath or has had any coughing, or if he seems like his attitude is different--not as playful, is sleeping a lot more, seems lethargic, etc-- then take him in to your vet. At his age, it would be wise to consider having some bloodwork run just as a senior screening to make sure everything is looking good.
