Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | spayed | 8 months and 3 days old | 25 lbs
Thanks Dr. Destini. What made me think of that question was that when I go to the vet, I tell them what’s wrong& they give antibiotics to see if it helps& if not then it’s viral. That’s what I meant by “handing them out”. Also, when the vet looks at them& then says “I’ll give them antibiotics” then walks out, from my perspective, I’m wondering if he just looked at my dog& guessed or what just happened. I love my vet but I hardly know what they are doing to my dog. I have to be annoying& ask ??’s

Questions about why your vet choses a particular medication is always welcomed at my practice. I believe that the more informed a pet owner is, the better advocate they can be when it comes to determing the best course of treatment for their pet. If your vet isn't communicating their reasons for choosing certain treatments, then please do continue to ask questions. Take care and best of luck moving forward with Mia.
