Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Ferret | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 1 month old

I have a sick ferret that hasn't eaten in 3 days. I've tried contacting a hospital, but they want payment right now and unfortunately I don't have it at the moment . I need to know what to do

I'm so sorry to hear that, thank you for reaching out to us. You can offer him soft food, canned cat food, boiled chicken, etc, you can try to add warmed broth to make it more aromatic. Beyond that, its hard to advise you without seeing him and having more info. Your vet may accept payments through Care Credit or another 3rd party financing option, generally these give you 6 months of no interest. https://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/ If he starts to seem very lethargic and dumpy, rub some corn syrup or honey on his gums. Please get him in to see your vet as soon as you can. Thank you for asking PetCoach.
