Why does my cat sneeze when she bumps her nose but acts normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Norwegian Forest Cat | Female | spayed | 12 years and 1 month old | 13 lbs

Cat sneezes when she bumps or rubs her nose on something. Acting normal, eating normal. Slight discharge from eyes (she has this when she’s stressed sometimes). Just sneezing quite a bit! What could this be?

It could be Sanoe's nose is irritated when she bumps something, causing her to sneeze. Given she is acting otherwise normal, I'd keep an eye on her for now. If this behavior continues over the next 24-48 hours or she develops other symptoms such as coughing, increased discharge from her eye, lethargy, or decreased appetite, have her seen by a vet.
