Hi there, I've had my rescue dog frankie for about a year and a half now and hes never ever kicked his leg when he is scratched but all of a sudden hes became really sensitive to having his belly touched and his leg goes like mad I know its normal for dogs to kick their leg when they get scratched but I think it's weird that its came on so quickly so it's making me concerned

I agree. If Frankie has never exhibited this behavior before, it could be a sign of skin sensitivity which could be due to several things including allergies, skin mites, flea bites, or other possible causes. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. Check the skin daily for signs of infection or irritation such as redness or scabs. If these are seen, have him examined by the veterinarian who may prescribe medications. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
