Why did my bird suddenly pass away after falling from its perch?

My bird got sleepy this afternoon and all the sudden she fell off her perch. She was disoriented, sleepy and had diherra. She passed but this happened within maybe 2 hrs. I was just wondering what may have happened since it was so sudden like that. Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female | 15 years and 8 months old
