Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | spayed | 13 years and 10 months old | 16 lbs
My girl, Gigi is a 13-yr old Bichon. She weighs about 16 lbs. I buy their dog food through the mail, it’s called Nom Nom now. I have a sense that the packages might have been bad this last time. Because my boy dog had diarrhea first, but his resolved. My girls started at 5 AM yesterday morning. I fed her a special diet of chicken, rice, carrots, green beans today, and rest of today, she’s had bad diarrhea. Is there something I can get her over the counter?

Hi. Poor GiGi. Unfortunately there is nothing safe over the counter for diarrhea. First you will want to have an examination by your veterinarian and make sure that everything else is okay. I am sure it is most likely the food, but we don't know that for sure. There are a lot of potential causes for diarrhea. It's important to get an examination and to check her hydration and abdominal palpation to make sure that there isn't a cause for concern as for another cause of diarrhea. I hope she feels better soon contact your veterinarian in the morning or your nearest ER. Good luck
