Why does my dog have green eye discharge and red eye? Kidney related?

Hi, my dog has been having a green discharge from her eye not too much but I see it and just wipe it. She seems in a great mood and is eating just fine. I’ve noticed sometimes her eye a little red too. She was diagnosed with kidney disease a few months back but has been doing well and it is stabilized. Could this have anything to do with that? im in Florida and we have a hurricane watch but is there anything I can give her for now? Since I probably won’t be able to take her to the vet. Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 40 lbs

It sounds like Nyla could have an eye infection, and that does not have anything to do with her kidney disease. It's best if you can get her into a vet now to get eye ointment to treat it, but if you can't, gently wipe away and discharge with a damp, soft cloth. Get her into a vet as soon as you can.
