Pet's info: Bird | Cockatiel | Female | 6 years old
My cockatiel is 6 years old female. She is very lonely and we want to buy another one, should it be a female or a male? Also, what should we do the first day they are bought and how do we know they're not sick? I am thinking of getting another female, but a bit afraid I won't be able to differentiate between them. :-( Looking forward to your response, thank you! ♡

Thanks for reaching out about Koko. A female would be preferred. All new birds should be quarantined in a different room for at least 30 days. Diagnostics tests can be performed to ascertain health. Good luck.
