Why is my allergic cat's nose discolored and losing fur around mouth?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | spayed | 3 years and 10 months old | 8.8 lbs

i will go to the vet, but I wanted an opinion from you. I attach the photos. We go for holidays with my cat to an island every year, where I have siblings. She started having a discoloration at her nose from black-dark brown to light brown. I also noticed in the area of the mouth loss of fur, like a wound. No one caused it, she doesn't scratch her self at this point. Generally she is a very allergic cat, but with the right food she is ok. Please reply to me. Thank you in advance. Zervas George

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Nala. I do recommend that she sees her veterinarian. The changes can be a component of her allergic skin disease. It could also be a new problem such as ringworm. Her veterinarian will ask more detailed questions regarding her diet, exposure to other cats and changes in her environment on the island. I hope this information helps!
