Why is my male cat licking his private area and struggling to move?

Hi, my cat has been licking his private area all day and now he’s having a little difficult time turning over onto his back (or he may just be being stupid). I pressed all over his belly and bladder and he didn’t whine or anything. He’s been urinating OK I guess maybe a little less than normal. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 16 lbs

I suggest you have him to your vet for an exam and urine test. It is not normal for male cats to lick their privates incessantly. Male cats often form crystals in their urine and they can be irritating to the urethra as they pass through which may be causing the licking. As long as he is passing some urine it is not an emergency but you should try to get him examined in the next day or so.
