What is this purplish, squishy growth on my dog's stomach?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 17 days old | 108 lbs

Has a sudden growth on his stomach area, above the belly button. It is solid in certain places and squishy in others, one side of it is a purplish color and the other almost looks like a pimple. Around it is a perfect circle of discolored skin. He doesn’t mind me touching it unless I press on it he gets slightly aggravated. Most likely unrelated but he has a history of stomach issues with his digestive system.

This looks very abnormal. I would be worried about this and I think you should have him seen by a vet. Could be ringworm, a staph bacterial infection, a spider (or other insect) bite, an autoimmune disease or the start of a cancerous lesion.
