I found a baby squirrel on the ground. What should I do to help?

A friend just found a baby squirrel and she wants me to take him in. I think she found him on the ground. We can’t put him outside to find mom because it’s raining, we have hawks in our neighborhood and she has cats who would eat him. What should I do? Please help!!! Thank you so much!
