My C-section puppy has birth defects and blood in urine. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 2 days old | 0.66 lbs

Hello! My English bulldog just had a c section and gave birth to one puppy. The puppy has a cleft palate and one ear. My dog is on Tramadol and is nursing the puppy - my vet didn’t tell me to stop nursing the puppy. This morning the puppy had abit of blood in its urine. I left the puppy in the box and forgot to turn off the radiator when I went upstairs, when I came down the puppy was panting so I quickly took the puppy out of the box and placed it in front of the fan. I took its temperature - 3

Hello. With the puppy already having a couple of birth defects, I would wonder about a problem with its genitourinary system, too. Tramadol is considered safe to use post C-section, but it can make a bitch sleepy & possibly cause her to fall asleep on the puppy. Your post cut off before you reported the temp., but hopefully you got her cooled down. This puppy will probably be a bit of a challenge to raise, but with luck she might do just fine. Good luck & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
