My Shih Tzu has a growing lump on his testicle and can't walk.

Question

Good day doctor, my male shitzu is not active but was able to eat some of his dog food this morning. He has a lump on his ball and I think it is growing. Now he is having a hard time to walk and his tail is not up. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 14 years and 7 months old | 68 lbs

Hi, and thanks for your question. Although a picture of it would help to give you a more specific answer, this lump/bump/growth should be ideally examined by your local vet to have a diagnosis established. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include skin cysts, infections, benign or more malignant type of tumors.
