My Shih Tzu has a growing lump on his testicle and can't walk.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 14 years and 7 months old | 68 lbs

Good day doctor, my male shitzu is not active but was able to eat some of his dog food this morning. He has a lump on his ball and I think it is growing. Now he is having a hard time to walk and his tail is not up.

Hi, and thanks for your question. Although a picture of it would help to give you a more specific answer, this lump/bump/growth should be ideally examined by your local vet to have a diagnosis established. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include skin cysts, infections, benign or more malignant type of tumors.
