How to stop my cat from nursing her sister and prevent harm?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 23 days old | 2.5 lbs

My cat Valentina, keeps trying to breast feed off of her sister. I keep pulling her off but it's becoming persistent. I've tried giving her kitten formula in a bowl to see if she would stop but it doesn't work. I'm worried she'll bite her sister or hurt her. What should I do?

I would keep them completely separated for now to stop the behavior. Keep them separated for the next week, then slowly start letting them have time together. If the behavior starts again, immediately separate them again and try re-introduction in a few days.
