What causes dry skin and hair loss on my pet's leg from dragging?

Hi, I noticed this patch of dry skin on his leg where there’s not much hair growing, and was wondering what it might be. He didn’t react to me touching it, so I don’t think it hurts. He has CH, so he’s dragging himself around a lot so I thought it might be from friction on the floor, but wanted a professional opinion and any info on what I can do about it if it’s a problem. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5 months and 26 days old | 4 lbs

I'd leave it be for now, but if the area gets bigger or worse, then have him seen by a vet to have it treated. Best of luck,
