My cat has began biting and licking her behind. The are is now hairless and oozes, yet she continues to bite. She is only six, but is loosing weight.

Wow that looks really bad, poor Ramona. She could have fleas, mites, or allergies causing this biting, and the area could now be infected. I'd take her into a vet today to get this problem diagnosed and treated.
