Why isn't my senior cat eating, drinking only water, and constipated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered | 15 years and 2 months old | 13 lbs

14 year old main coon cat. Not eating, only drinking water and liquids from food. No BM since yesterday but hasn't been eating very well either.

Poor Bob sounds quite sick, and it is serious when a cat won’t eat. At his age, he could have a number of illness causing his symptoms including liver disease, heart disease, diabetes, kidney failure, and cancer. Please take him into a vet now to get checked out.
