My dog ate a plastic toothpick. What symptoms should I watch for?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Mastiff | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 6 days old | 61 lbs

My dog ate a plastic toothpick and I’m scared it will hurt him because it didn’t come out in his stool, it was a small fraction of the pick but it was the pointed part, I have no access to a vet and I don’t know what to do.

I'd just keep an eye on Max for now. If you see blood in his stool or other signs such as vomiting, anorexia, and lethargy, then I would be worried and have him seen by a vet. Otherwise, he should be fine.
