Does my 9-year-old Golden Retriever's blood work mean kidney disease?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | neutered | 9 years and 2 months old | 74 lbs

My nine year old Golden Retriever has a BUN of 64, Cr of 1.3, and USG of 1.032. Does this definitely indicate kidney disease?

No, it does not as USG is hypersthenuric (which means that urine are concentrated). Elevation of BUN is pre-renal in this case so dehydration is possible (other causes as well). More informations would be essential to give you more specific answers.
