My dog's tail is swollen and painful. What can I do tonight?

My dog has a sore tail - it’s swollen at the base of the tail. She is extremely restless and seems to be crying in pain. We only noticed it at 8pm tonight that she had an issue with it, it is not 11.30pm and she has gotten worse. Is there anything I would be able to do to ease her pain until we can get to a vet tomorrow? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 6 years old | 79 lbs

Hi, if you think it could be due to muscular pain for example because of intense swimming, you could give her paracetamol at 10 mg/kg, so if Nala weighs 30kg she could have a children 250mg tablet or half of an adult 500mg. It needs to be the plain paracetamol. Be really careful with the dosage as it is toxic at higher dosages. Hope this helps.
