Hi, if the wrapper has been thorn into pieces it will probably pass through his gastro intestinal tract together with other food. If it was a large piece swollowed as whole, there is the risk of obstruction and you need to monitor him closely for any vomiting or diarrhoea or straining to go to the toilet or abdominal pain. Hope this helps.

Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The next steps will depend on a couple of factors such as the size of the piece of plastic. If it is relatively small compared to his size, he may be able to pass it on his own and you may be able to find it in the feces later. If it is large or it has an irregular shape, he may have a hard time passing it in which case it can cause gastrointestinal obstruction requiring surgery. If the ingestion happened within the last 2 hours, a veterinarian may still be able to induce vomiting to retrieve it if it was small. If you are uncertain if he really ingested it and it was a small piece, perhaps just monitor him for signs of obstruction such as vomiting, anorexia and lethargy and have him evaluated right away if observed. Best of luck with Toffee!
