Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 70 lbs
So my dog had flees and has obviously been scratching, and we though that had caused abrasions on his head and neck. So we flew treated him and put a cone on. But looking at them it seems like there are holes appearing in the skin rather than cuts, and the healed skin that is growing back is grey. He is really not himself and seems to be seeing something we can't at his shoulder and keeps whipping his head back in fear. I am unable to take photos because I can't get him near me. He's a Labrador

I recommend you get him checked by your vet - it is likely the damaged skin has become infected and very painful, hence the biting and snapping towards the area. It is likely he will need antibacterial and antifungal washes and possibly antiinflammatory medication to allow the skin to heal. An omega fatty acid supplement and rigorous flea prevention (including household flea spray to kill the eggs and larvae) are also recommended
