Is recurring red-brown eye discharge normal for my new cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Male | neutered | 3 years and 4 months old

Is it normal for my cat to have these red brownish crusty bits in the corner of his eyes? I've wiped them off twice now and they reappeared. It's been a week since we've adopted him.

Yes, that is pretty normal for this breed. You will have to wipe them 2-3 times per day to avoid a lot of build-up. I would suggest using these wipes: ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/well-and-good-cat-eye-wipes )
