White lump on dog's paw pad causing limping: growth or blister?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 44 lbs

Hi Our dog as a small white lump on her pad which I believe is causing her to limp. We have taken her to the vets and were told it's either a growth or blister. We were given loxicom and told to bathe the pad in a saline solution for 5 minutes 4 x a day. Has anyone else come across these on a dogs pad and if so what happened in the end

Hi, growth in this area occurs regularly in dogs and can differ in nature and behavior. I would continue the medications as advised by your vet and if once finished the growth is still there, have a fine needle aspirate taken to see if you can understand better what is the nature of the lump. Hope this helps,
