My dog has kidney disease. Is her sudden diarrhea a concern?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 40 lbs

Hello! My dog has been diagnosed with kidney disease about 4 months back, we got her on a diet and she has been feeling and doing great, lots of energy and eating normal too thank God but today her stool has been soft and now I notice it got softer almost to the point of diarrhea. Should I be concerned? Is this related to what she has? She seems fine and has lots of energy. Thank you so much!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Nyla. The diarrhea is unlikely related to her kidney disease. If it continues though, she will need to see her veterinarian. It will be easier for her to become dehydrated given her kidney disease. I hope this information helps!
