Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | 10 years and 7 months old | 10 lbs
My dog has had this mass on his back that I’ve thought to be a wart. Over the last 6 months it has changed in shape which has caused me to worry that it may be more serious than a wart. It began to bleed the other evening and has since scabbed. Should I be worried? The first picture is from February and the second picture is now.

I agree it does look like a wart, but it is concerning it has changed shape and is now bleeding. I do think it should be checked out by a vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Give Peanut's vet a call to make him an appointment.
