My new kitten is throwing up and has watery stool. What should I feed?

Yesterday I found kitten who looks like 7-8 weeks, from my parking, as someone left her. I gave her kitten food dry and wet but from today evening she vomits once and watery stool. What should I have to give her.

Goldie could be vomiting and have watery stool due to many reasons including a sudden change in diet, an infection or parasites. You may try feeding her a bland diet if she will eat it. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. If she will not eat it, continue feeding her the kitten food. Offer her both canned and dried. At her age, she does not need milk of any form. If she is still sick tomorrow, have her examined and treated by the veterinarian. Try to offer Mini boiled boneless chicken and rice every 4-6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on he normal food, as long as there is a major improvement. If the watery stools do not resolve, take her to the vet to get treatment.

Congrats on your new kitten, but I'm sorry she is sick! If she is eating a different brand of food from what she was fed at the shelter, this could be the cause of her GI upset (vomiting and diarrhea). Sudden changes in diets cause GI upset in cats, and they need to be transitioned slowly to a new food. I would withhold food for 8 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Yes I suspect it's the kitten food causing Buddy to have an upset stomach and vomit. Sudden changes in diet can lead to these symptoms. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) in small amounts a couple times a day for a few days, the start slowly adding in his normal diet. If he refuses to eat the bland diet, vomits the bland diet, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, continues to have diarrhea, has blood in his stool, and/or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet immediately. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Possible reasons for vomiting episodes include pancreatitis, kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroenteritis, among others. However, in a kitten who is otherwise doing well, oftentimes it is dietary indiscretion. In this case, sometimes a diet change to a sensitive stomach diet could improve this. You can get any good quality sensitive stomach food at your local pet store and see if that helps. Having grain or not is really not the important factor here. It is more just a sensitivity to the protein or carbohydrate in the current diet. Since you recently changed Ichiro's food, that could be the cause of his vomiting and diarrhea. Be sure to get him back on a kitten formulated food as soon as possible, as he needs that in order to grow properly. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps him. I would recommend starting a bland diet as outlined below and feed this at least 3 days beyond the resolution of the vomiting. After the vomiting resolves, transition back to the regular food and if there is no improvement, I would recommend switching to a new food altogether and see 8f there is improvement. If there is still no improvement after that, then I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Poor kitty! She could have a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, or could have a foreign body. If she hasn't been vomiting for two days in a row, you can try a home remedy before having to take her into the vet. I recommend withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feeding a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.
