My dog is straining to pee and vomiting. What could be wrong?

Hello, my dog has started having difficulty urinating. She’s a nine year old lurcher. I noticed today that she kept squatting to pee about 15 or so times, but either no urine came out, or it came out slowly (dripping). I’ve googled these symptoms and it said it could be a UTI, but as well as this she’s also vomited today, and I’m worried that there could be something else wrong, as vomiting (I don’t think) isn’t a symptom of a UTI

This behavior is very common with UTI, but could also be caused by urinary bladder stones, kidney disease, and a few other things. I would recommend that you have Ruby examined by a vet. A urinalysis and x-rays of the bladder to check for stones are the first step.
