My cat swallowed a long string. What are the signs of danger?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 4 months old | 26 lbs

Apollo swallowed a 1 mm thick approx 18" long..polyester cord string

That's not good. Open Apollo's mouth to see if may be caught around his tongue or back teeth. You may not get a good view, so take him into the vet in the morning to have them check if it's there. If it is there, it can be removed, and prevent problems. Otherwise, he may have swallowed it completely, and you have to monitor him for signs of a linear foreign body. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, or lethargy, take him into a vet right away. Best of luck.
