My dog's nose skin is discolored and darkening. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Great Pyrenees | Male | unneutered | 11 years and 7 months old | 95 lbs

I noticed slight skin discoloration under my dog's nose. I think it is getting slightly darker but it is still present. It has been about 5 or 6 days since I noticed it. Is it something serious and should I take him to see his veterinarian? Thank you.

Given that it's gotten darker and has been there for almost a week, yes I do think it's worth getting checked out by a vet. It may be from an injury or it could be a skin infection. The vet can diagnose what is causing it and can treat Pasha.
