Why is my dog shaking, not eating, and pain meds aren't helping?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | unspayed

My Yorkshire terrier dog keeps repeatedly shaking, keeps her head down all the time. Won’t eat a lot or drink a lot. Isn’t messing herself. Took her to the vets as she keeps her back arched they gave her medicine pain relief however doesn’t seem to be helping. Been like this for over a week now. No vomiting or diareah. Not sure what’s wrong. Also seems un balanced when she tries to walk but often just lays in the same spot and won’t jump up on the sofa without assistance.

Poor Delilha. It sounds like there could be something serious going on, and it may be with her neck or back. I think she needs further testing to figure out what is causing her symptoms, so I would take her back into the vet in the morning for x-rays.
