The surgical wound seems producing an excessive scar and it is essential to confirm that the underlying layers healed properly. I would have her checked by your local veterinarian to rule out any wound breakdown and possible herniation.

    From the picture it looks to me like an umbilical hernia, which is a hole in the abdominal wall causing internal organs to pop through that hole under the skin, forming what looks like a lump. this is something that will need to be confirmed by your vet and if it is, surgery should be advised.

It's a little difficult to tell in your picture - it doesn't appear to be raised. If it is a flat area of redness and hair loss it could be a hot spot or superficial bacterial infection. If it is raised it could be a skin growth like a histiocytoma. I would recommend having your vet examine this lesion to determine for certain what it is.

If not a hernia then it may be a seroma formation and inflammation from the tissue trying to repair it self and heal. Seromas are common and go away completely. They often happen in large breeds that may jump or run and be a little too active. If there is a hernia then the size may change from time to time as things go in and out Anti anti inflammatory medicine may be need to help this go away quicker. If it is not back to normal after a week or it continues to get larger then she should be rechecked again.

This lump/growth should be ideally examined by your veterinarian to have a definitive diagnosis. Your vet will examine it and possibly perform with an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy. Differentials would include skin cyst, infections or benign or malignant type of tumors. My dog got spayed a few weeks ago and she is fine right now but there a bump on her stomach. It's not red and it's not bothering her. Is this normal l? Should I take her to the vet?
No worries. The internal sutures that are used during a pet spay can take as long as 2-3 months to completely dissolve. So the bumps you are feeling are likely a minor suture reaction occurring just underneath the skin. As long as there is no opening of the skin, redness or oozing at the site, Dixie is likely just fine. Just continue to monitor the area for any changes and report them to your vet if seen, but in most cases the bumpy area will resolve on its own over time.

My dog had a reddish bump on his stomach. Any idea what it is? It continues to get larger
It's hard to say for certain from the photo, but it may be a type of skin tumor. I am concerned that it appears to be a very dark red color and is hairless. Your vet may suggest a needle aspirate or biopsy to determine if the growth is cancerous or not. It may be more apparent in real life that this is something else like an insect bite or sting, or a skin infection. A veterinary physical exam is the best recommendation.

My dog has a bump on her stomach and I’m not sure if I should be worried. I shaved the hair off around it so I was able to see it better. It is not bothering her at all, but I want to make sure everything is okay.
This looks like either a puncture wound or an insect bite, i would recommend monitoring it for the next 2-3 weeks, if you think it does not get any better you should take her to the vet in order to get it checked and treated.

We got a 3 month old boxer puppy from the shelter on Monday and she had surgery the same day of a umbilical hernia and spay surgery the same day we got her. We have kept her calm and not giving her much area to be active she’s been in a kennel until
It needs to be rechecked. It can either be a hernia from the incision or holding well or a seroma which is not uncommon in hyper dogs or puppies that jump up. A seroma will go away on its in with time and cause no trouble. If the incision is failing then she will need surgery to have t repaired. The only way to know if to have someone actually feel the area to be sure

You are right to be concerned - all new lumps and bumps should be evaluated thoroughly! It is a little difficult to tell from the photo, but this lump is in the location of her umbilicus, and it is suspicious for an umbilical hernia. It could also be some other type of a mass, but the only way to know for sure is to have it evaluated by your vet. Your vet can determine whether or not it is a hernia and/or take a needle sample to determine the type of cells. If it is a hernia, they can usually be routinely fixed during her spay procedure.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is hard to see in the pictures. This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign.
