My 8-month-old puppy has bumps on his testicles. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Long Coat) | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 19 days old | 6.6 lbs

Hi my 8 month old chihuahua puppy has sort of ball shaped tips on the bottom of his testicles, they don’t seem to bother him but I would like to know whether I should be worried about this and what it could be. Thanks

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Beau. This is likely just a normal part of his anatomy. You may be noticing a portion of the testicle known as the epididymis. It is best to have him seen by his veterinarian though to know for sure. I hope this information helps!

Hi, I think the lump that you referring to could be one of his testicles that hasn't descended. I would not worry but wait another couple of months and have him checked over to see if anything has changed. Hope this helps ! Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach !

What you are feeling is likely the epididymis on each testicle. This is where the semen is stored in a convolute of the seminal duct directly attached at the lower end of the testicle. This is normal.
