Why is my dog peeing inside after starting allergy medication?

Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Female | spayed | 10 months and 25 days old | 69 lbs

Hello my dog recently had really bad allergies and a bad case of hives and took her to the vet to get treated they injected her with three shots and got sent home with medication she is fine now but I am wondering if the medication causes her to urinate alot because recently shes been having alot of accidents around the house and before she wouldnt shes house trained and recently started having accidents im just curious if the medication is whats causing this issue thank you .

Hi there. Without knowing what specific medications she's taking, it's hard to say. But, if she is on a steroid such as prednisone, this can certainly cause increased drinking and urination, and will cause some dogs to have accidents in the house. I would suggest calling your veterinarian tomorrow to discuss your concerns. He/she may recommend decreasing her steroid dose (if she's currently taking one), or switching to a different medication to help with these side effects.
