I am sorry to hear about Teddy. We can see blood in the stool for a variety of reasons, ranging from generalized inflammation in the bowels, to infection with bacteria or viruses and infestation with parasites. If your dog is vaccinated against parvovirus and seems normal otherwise today, is energetic and eating with no vomiting, and the poop is not frequent diarrhea, then I would make an appointment with your vet but would not consider a small amount of blood an emergency. You can try a bland diet of cooked plain rice and boiled chicken breast and adding a probiotic to his diet (available at most pet stores) for a few days until you are able to get him seen. If the stool begins to look very bloody/like jam, he is lethargic, vomiting, stops eating then he needs to be seen right away.
