Thank you for submitting your question regarding Uno. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian. She could have an eye infection and the draining causing an irritation to the underlying skin near her eye. If this is not the case, then the skin near here her eyelid could be the problem. There are certain skin diseases that tend to affect the eyelid margins. Her veterinarian will examine her and determine the best course of treatment to resolve the issue. So the first question is why is there discharge. A dog as large as Samson should not have eye discharge normally and needs to see a vet as I am very worried about an eye ulcer. If the dog in question is a small/toy breed then clear discharge with large crusty buildup is common. Either way, the mantra is SOAK SOAK SOAK. Use plenty of warm water or saline until the stuff is thin enough to gently wipe off. Avoid any scrubbing or picking motions. Sometimes, these guys do also need a topical medication if the infection underneath is severe. Hope this helps and best of luck!
