My dog almost died from a bee sting. What do I do to prevent it again?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 125 lbs

Yesterday my dog had an allergic reaction to a bee sting. This is her second time being stung and this time she went into anaphylactic shock and cardiac arrest. She has since then fully recovered. The next time she gets stung it could be fatal. What do I do? How do I prevent anything? Is there anything that can help with such a strong bee venom allergy? Please help, thank you.

That is very scary and I am glad she has recovered! You need an epipen for Lilo. Speak with your veterinarian about getting one of these to keep on hand in case she gets stung again. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
