Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 16 years and 7 months old | 12 lbs

My senior cat suffers from skin allergies and her doctor prescribed omega 3 oil once a day. Is it ok to apply the oil directly in her affected skin?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! No, this is not how it is intended to be done and is not likely effective that way. I would recommend you give it by mouth instead as recommended by your veterinarian. Best of luck!
