Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use chlorhexidine containing pads (such as the Douxo chlorhexidine 3% PS pads) or an anti-microbial shampoo to clean the are twice daily or bathe her for 7 days. You may find these online or at your local pet store. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!

Yes this look like a mild skin infection. I would wash the area every few days with an antibacterial shampoo. Then make sure to dry her fur in this area when she comes back inside since moisture on the skin and contribute to these types of skin infections. If it worsens then she should have a veterinary exam and treatment. She may need oral antibiotics. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Jilly Bean.
