Why is my ball python always on the cool side and not basking?

My snake (ball python) is very sociable but I'm worried about him hanging out on the cool side of the tank all the time ambient temp is about 75 to 80 constantly but he doesnt go and bask very often. Pet's info: Reptile | Python | Male | unneutered | 1lb

Thanks for reaching out about Diablo. As long as still eating, defecating and acting normal, there is minimal concerns. Is he hanging out in the water bowl?
