Pet's info: Dog | Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 55 lbs
My bull terrier (male, 5 years, desexed) has a history of anxious behaviour, previously manifesting with tail chasing and spinning. We practice a lot of calm behaviour. Recently, he whines/cries loudly when playing with his toys. I have tried ignoring, distracting, and eliminating the stimulus. When I go outside, he stops and runs away, so I think it is an attention seeking behaviour. But even when you ignore and stay in the house, it remains loud and persistent.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! These types of behaviors can improve though this does require in person training with the help of a qualified dog trainer. I would encourage you to contact a dog trainer that can work with you and Smidgen in person to really take care of this behavior. The sooner these behaviors are dealt with, the more likely it is that you can improve and resolve them. Good luck and have a good night!
