Budgie care while traveling: Cage them or leave them home alone?

Hi my previous account was deleted, please reply ASAP! I have two budgies: cheeya and kukoo. Had them for nearly a year now. We are going pn holiday tomorrow. Either I leave them at my friends place, the only issue with that is they will be in the cage for 7 days. They are always out flying at home and only go inside at night, im worried staying in the cage for so long may stress them in a new environment. Or we can leave them at home with plenty of food and water? But that is quite risky?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It would be safer and better to leave them with your friend in the cage. While they may get a bit stressed, they are likely going to get used to it and it is safer than letting them loose in a house without supervision. They are likely going to be just fine inside of the cage. Have a good day!
