My dog pooped twice so far today. The first time was the normal, solid chocolate brown stool but the second time, he pooped a mustard yellow loose stool covered in a transparent jelly like mucus. He still has an appetite and is able to run and walk to play

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loose mucosy stools can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have your pup evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may choose to check for parasites and to start medications depending on the results. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
