My dog won't eat after boarding. Vet is unsure. What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Whippet | Female | unspayed | 10 lbs

We’ve just come back from our holidays and our whippet has lost its appetite she will only eat occasionally and when she does it is not enough. We’ve sent her to our vets and they are unaware of what it causing this. She’s 5 years old and has never lost her appetite before. We’ve tried lots of different food but she’s just not interested what else can we do?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Echo. Has she been checked for a respiratory tract infection as this is common after a boarding stay? If this is not the case, then I recommend that she has blood and urine testing if her exam findings do not give a diagnosis for her loss of appetite. I hope this information helps!
