My 4-week-old puppy stopped pooping after starting puppy food. Help!

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 30 days old | 10 lbs

Karma is just over 4 weeks old. Last week we started mixing her formula with crushed puppy food to wean her off slowly. She loved it, but I noticed she was pooping alot more. Like 5 times in 24 hrs, but healthy. So I tried yesterday starting to just give her the mixture once a day and formula the other 3 times a day. well, it's been 24 hrs since her last poop. Shes not showing signs of constipation and shes not bloated. Just peeing, no poop. Healthy appetite and energetic. Should I be worried??

No, I wouldn't worry just yet, Karma is going through diet changes and that can affect her poop. I would keep giving her the formula with the crushed puppy food instead of formula as she needs to be weaned. Pooping five times a day is fine! I hope this helps!
