Why is my bonded rabbit suddenly scared of humping and not eating?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 5 lbs

I have 2 rabbits Pandora, and Coco is about 8-10 months, they were just introduced 3 months ago and they have gotten along perfectly, the past couple of days however whenever Coco tries to hump Pandora or even gets close to her back she freaks out and whines like she's terrified, she still snuggles Coco from the front tho.this has never been a problem before they have both humped each other since they were acquainted but because of this behavior Pandora isn't eating much food for the last 2 days.

Thanks for reaching out about Pandora. Not sure if this is due to fear or an injury. If a physical exam by a veterinarian has not been performed in the last year, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess. It could just be the establishment of dominance. Not all rabbits get along. Good luck.
