My dog ate onion and pork. He's vomiting and not eating. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

King for on the counter after dinner and ate a pork chop that I used seasoning on and cut up and onion to bake. He began throwing up clear liquids and was extremely thirsty it's been 2 days now and he won't eat only drinking water not active at all. Is there a home treatment as I can't afford a vet they are most expensive.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is possibly due to gastrointestinal upset but most importantly, this may be a gastrointestinal obstruction. There is no way of treating this at home without knowing what it is exactly. If this is a gastrointestinal obstruction, this needs to be treated with surgery most likely. I highly recommend you consider going to a veterinarian as soon as possible as I am afraid King may become dehydrated. I am hoping for a speedy recovery!
